Portrait of Nicholas Pinnock as Dwight from The Line on exhibit at Flushing Bank in Williamsburg, sponsored by NAWA, January 13 - March 31. A painting inspired by a play about ordinary people doing their jobs now exhibited in a space for ordinary people doing their jobs.
I began these paintings after seeing The Public Theater’s production of The Line, where Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, transformed personal interviews with frontline workers into gripping theater. Painted from stills that I made from The Line video, the paintings are as much about how the actors made me feel, as portraits of the individual actors.
