Why There Are No Great Women Artists: The Children's Room was my first fully realized art-and-architecture project. With partial funding by the National Endowment for the Arts, The Rockefeller Foundation, and The Andy Warhol Foundation, I translated The Birth of Housework paintings into architecture. I designed our home in rural Louisiana that, simultaneously, housed our family, while visually expressing the joys, trials, and tribulations of family life. The work integrates painting, sculpture, and landscape design with the interior and exterior of a 1920s bungalow.
